I was honoured to be a part of the grand opening of Orient Palace, Singapore's First and Largest Dining, Wellness and Entertainment Hub; spanning a total of 26,000 Square Feet! Gracing the event was veteran Taiwanese host Jacky Wu (吴宗宪) and celebrities Li Nanxing (李南星), Constance Song (宋怡霏) and Candy Chen (陈斯亚). The place is huge, featuring 2 floors; the 1st floor is a restaurant section called Orient Palace while the 2nd floor houses Spa Nes, where you can relax and throw all your worries away! At Orient Palace, you can:
The restaurant serves Nanyang-style and Cantonese dishes. Open till 3am daily, the restaurant section of Orient Palace (also named Orient Palace) has a 200-seater main dining area as well as five VIP rooms, each equipped with a karaoke system for a more intimate dining experience. Orient Palace’s kitchen is helmed by Chief Culinary Consultant Chef Fei, winner of China’s Celebrity Chef five-star medal and nominated for Annual Best 50 Master Chefs. His specialty lies in Cantonese Cuisine, so expect exquisite handmade Cantonese dim sum, such as Swan Dumpling with Roast Chicken Meat (3 pcs for S$18.80), Chilled Mango Duckling Pudding (3 pcs for S$9.80), 22K Gold Galaxy Snow Skin Dumpling with Blueberry Puree (3 pcs for S$12.80) and Baked Homemade Mini Cheese Tart (3 pcs for S$10.80). These delectable dim sum offerings are only available during lunch 12pm to 2.30pm. The mango pudding was my personal favourite! Indulge in a guilt-free beauty dessert for glowing skin, with the Chilled Bird’s Nest with Fresh Avocado & Crystal Sugar (S$68). Treat yourself to a nourishing tonic, the Stewed Fish Maw with Dried Scallops & Bak Choy (S$88), available during lunch 12.00 pm to 2.30pm and dinner 5.30pm to 2.30am. Orient Palace doles out Nanyang-style cuisine and Cantonese mainstays handcrafted with meticulously selected ingredients. Here, guests can tuck into signature dishes such as Traditional Charcoal Roasted Crispy Suckling Pig (Whole: S$258; Half: S$138; Quarter: S$68) with wonderfully crackling skin; and the invigorating Premium Dragon Rib Bak Kut Teh (from $16.80 onwards)— the meat, infused with the herbal note of the soup, slides off the bone! Get a delicious taste of Singapore, with the Old Punggol Black & White Pepper Crab (S$8.80/100gm). This classic dish from Old Punggol is fragrant with Sarawak’s specialty grounded white and black pepper, signature spices, and is full of wok hei aroma. The suckling pig is roasted at the restaurant itself!! If you're dining in from 9pm to 3am, indulge in live band performances and a star-studded line up with popular bands and singers performing on stage just for you! Moving on to Level 2, Spa Nes is a sanctuary that focuses on wellness for the body and mind. One stop destination for wellness services that offers Southeast Asian healing therapies, luxurious spa facials and polishes, body massages and even barber services. In addition, it is one of the first spas in Singapore to offer TCM consultations by certified TCM practitioners. Here is where you can enjoy an invigorating Spa Nes Signature Massage (otherwise fondly referred to as the Singapura Massage)— the masseuses will use a special concoction of orchid essential oils with unique techniques inspired by Swedish, Thai and Chinese acupressure massage styles. The national flower of Singapore, orchid is chosen for its healing powers, as its sweet aroma can help reduce fatigue and stress. It is also full of antioxidants, and thus can improve the skin tone and skin immunity. This room features multiple tatamis that are perfect for group bookings.
There are more than 10 private as well as VIP rooms available in Spa Nes. Spacious and cosy, the rooms, such as Vitality Nes, can also be used to host corporate workshops or even bachelorette parties where the bride and bridesmaids can pamper themselves from head to toe. Thank you everyone for your kind words and support after I released the video interview and previous blogpost talking about my breast augmentation surgery! I want you guys to know that your support means a lot to me and that I'm open to any questions that you guys might have with regards to the procedure. Through my sharing, I hope that readers who are interested to explore the possibility of breast augmentation for themselves have a better understanding of the procedure. TBH, there are a lot of myths out there. People hearsay from their friend, who heard someone else who did it, who read something online, who became aware of a case of a botched job. There is a risk involved in every surgery of course, and it is no different for breast augmentation surgeries. It is therefore very important to go to trusted and reputable doctors! Make sure your doctor answers all your queries and walks you through the procedure. Even better if he/she provides explanations on why they choose to do method A or method B, or prefer to use material X over material Y. Just to debunk some myths: 1. You cannot breastfeed after breast augmentation - This is definitely not true. Breast-feeding is still possible, provided your doctor doesn't cut your milk ducts. My doctor chose a under-boob incision, which makes breast feeding still possible. This procedure also prevents sensitivity loss. The scars are also hidden at the bottom of the boob. 2. You need to continuously massage the breast after the surgery. - This is no longer true, due to advancements in technologies and improvements to the materials used. 3. You have to abstain from certain food after the surgery - Not true, I could eat whatever I want after the op 4. You have to replace the implant over time. - Not true. Implants need not be removed unless in the rare occasion where your chest is subjected to strong, targeted impact which causes the implant to burst. Let me know if there are any more concerns or myths you'd like me to debunk! My surgery was performed by Dr Martin Huang at MH Plastic Surgery, located at Paragon Medical Centre. As for questions regarding cost, know that it is different for everyone and the prices will be adjusted based on the needs of the individual. Going back to how breast augmentation has increased my confidence. The best part about having a fuller chest is really the simple joy of being able to fill up the top part of my blouses and dresses. This was something that I struggled with before going through breast augmentation. The top part of my clothes always limped and sagged in a ugly manner, something that I couldn't fix unless I stuffed padding in my bra (which sometimes shifts out of place and makes me uncomfortable or paiseh cause other people can see them) Now, I can wear whatever I want; looking good and feeling great about myself! I'm not saying that your self-esteem has to be fully built upon the way you look; but when you love the way you look, it is definitely a boost. Some people asked, why you don't want to do bigger?
I did try the larger implants, but I didn't think they were suitable. (Do note that for the first few weeks, there will be a bit of swelling. But once this goes away, you will be the size you chose.) Choose the size that suits you and achieves the look that you want. Remember that this is a life-time commitment. It is something that you have to live with for the rest of your life, so consider carefully before making your decision. Do it for yourself and not for anyone else. It may not change your life, but it will help you feel better about yourself. Make sure you also have realistic expectations of the results of the surgery.
