3 years. I swear time flew by quicker than I could say slow down. So much has happened during the poly days; I've been through much, but also learnt a lot and grown a lot since day 1. I don't think I can express how thankful I am towards Ngee Ann, for shaping me and making me who I am today. I still rmbr when I was a freshie. Being in BA meant lots of fun and happening events. Our orientation camp was and is still the most BOMBZ in NP. Love the cheers, and we have the best seniors, best flags, best everything! If you expected the orientation wave to die out, you'd be so disappointed! In NP, its a tradition for OGs to have mass sentosa outings heheheh Being a freshie is always about getting bullied. HAHAH But it's fun :> It was a whole bunch of nerves upon going to a new class. Didn't know if you were gonna meet people you clicked off with and stuff; but I'm glad I met my clique. They have been such great life supports, wouldn't have completed poly without them. I didn't join any CCA per say because I was afraid of the amount of time that I would need to commit. My parents didn't allow me to stay out too late, so I joined BA interest groups instead. I was really lucky to have gotten into BA envoys and joined BA Comms. OIP SHANGHAI MAR2012-APR2012One of my best memories with NP, has got to be OIP SHANGHAI 2012! So thankful to have been given the opportunity to spend 5 weeks in SH. We went over for company visits, had cultural lessons and completed B Comm 1 there :> Although I didn't score well for the modules and it pulled down my GPA; but I would never trade the memories made there for anything else. Reached back to SG just in time to join BAOC 2012! This time, as a GL (Group leader not guai lan okay) Because of TCP (The Christeria Programme), I got to be involved in Pre-University Seminar 2012. It was a 5 day residential programme at NTU, got to stay at a pretty lovely hall :> There, we discussed current affairs and exchanged opinions and made new friendships. Pre-uni sem kickstarted my interest in SG affairs! 2013YEP 2013 (MAR)The other school trip I've been on with NP was YEP Chiangmai. It wouldn't have been possible if not for TCP! It was a trip of self-discovery and personal development, lots and lots of learning and FUN! CityVillageBAOC 2013National Family Celebrations 2013When all my lucky stars aligned, I found myself sitting on the Youth Committee for National Family Celebrations 2013 as well as the Public Relations Committee to give ideas and input on how to make NFC 2013 a success. I don't know if "scouted" would be the correct word, because I simply attended a REACH Youth Ambassador Orientation (which could not have been possible without NP's TCP); and I posed a question to the Minister at the forum that day (and what I said seemed to resonate with everyone else cause there was claps and laughter) and I guess that's why I got invited on board :> It was a busy but exciting journey, where I spent weekends on 6 hour meetings to vet through submissions for the Project Superglue grant. We funded many youth projects that promote family bonding! I went on to double as a Youth media representative as well, to field interviews and share about NFC 2013. It was exciting to be on 95.8FM as well as Channel 8 ;> Do follow the new Ministry of Social development and Family's FB for updates on Family events and ideas for family bonding! PwC Internship (Sep 2013-Feb 2014)Being from NP's accountancy course; the 6 mths internship is a compulsory segment of our poly term. It is a really valuable experience, as you get insights into the industry and find out more about the potential career pathways available. I was really lucky to be posted to PwC to do audit for my internship. I figured audit would be the most interesting, since you get to go to different client offices to work. However, I quickly found out that I really didn't like accounting and audit. It was just not my thing yknow? I just don't feel the numbers, I don't know where to pluck the numbers. Everything is so grey instead of black and white. I doubt the whole purpose of the audit, so I guess I really should leave Acc HAHAH. Graduation Ceremony, 28 May 2014It's been a great 3 years with NP and I don't think I would be who I am today if I chose another path.
Thank you, xo.
